About this cartoon: Largely a cartoon for Yom Kippur, or the Jewish Day of Atonement, this cartoon reworks an ancient prayer citing the many, many ways one could die, with an underlying message that prayer, good deeds and repentance might help a person to avoid such a fate, as well as a message to make the most of whatever time one has remaining. With a series of natural and human disasters, and Donald Trump threatening to goad North Korea into a nuclear war, the message of this ancient prayer has renewed relevance.
